Benzoin

Benzoin is an oil extracted from the Styrax Benzoin tree, produced by the tree in response to deliberate damage. It is a common ingredient in incense, perfumes, food flavoring agents and also has medicinal value as a stypic, antiseptic and an inhalant.

Benzoin has remarkable fixative properties and a unique aroma reminiscent of vanilla, making it a desirable component of fragrance and incense, particularly in Asia and the Middle East.
