Artemisia

Artemisia refers to a large genus of plants, including such notable species as mugwort, tarragon and wormwood. Plants of this genus have a bitter herbal taste and strong aroma. Artmesia absinthium, known commonly as wormwood, has been used historically as a natural insect repellent, and is perhaps best known for its use in flavoring alcoholic beverages such as vermouth and absinthe.
